July Newsletter – 6.3 Release and a Focus on Professional Services

Those familiar with our team Precision Bridge know we’re never completely satisfied with the services we offer. We always look, listen to customer feedback, and consider new ways to upgrade our solutions for our customers. To that end, this month’s newsletter focuses on two important updates:

  1. Some great new features recently released in Precision Bridge 6.3

  2. A shout-out to customers who benefit from Precision Bridge’s professional services

What’s Included in 6.3?

Version 6.3 of our tool was released this month. It offers some great features:

  • Multi-threading capabilities that offer huge improvements to ServiceNow migration projects. This update has the potential to quintuple performance, (5 times improvement) for ServiceNow record extraction, perfect for companies moving from one ServiceNow instance to another or for Greenfield implementations. We’re in the process of doing more testing and gathering analytics on these enhancements, so stay tuned for more!

  • Related to multi-threading, 6.3 brings big advancements to replication projects, with much faster replication from ServiceNow into SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres or other databases either on premise or in the cloud (e.g. AWS or Azure). We expect a performance boost of 4-5 times here, so if you have lots of data to migrate, this will make a huge difference in your replication project.

  • Support for mySQL as a reporting database is now provided as well as a source platform for migrating data into ServiceNow and other platforms.

  • Logging improvements that streamline the process for customers doing many migrations on a regular basis. With 6.3, you can now easily combine log files into daily logs and control how long they’re retained. This improvement will create much more flexibility around logging.

  • Streamlined reporting functionality with 6.3 brings the ability to output reports directly into the database of your choice in addition to or instead of the current reporting output.

  • Upgrade to compatibility support for Java 17/18 and OpenJDK ensures that all users of Java 17/18 have the best possible experience with the new 6.3 version release.

Need Help With Your Project? Consider Our Customized Managed Services

Resources are tight these days, and we’ve noticed that many of our clients lack the staffing and technical know-how to get the most out of their migration projects.

If you’re struggling to get a project off the ground, Precision Bridge is happy to help you with a managed services approach that overcomes technical roadblocks and makes sure your projects go smoothly. While many clients prefer to purchase a Precision Bridge license and handle the migration project on their own, others have benefited from a more hands-on approach that can include:

  • Initial requirements gathering

  • Project scoping

  • Knowledge workshops

  • Creation of a migration plan

  • Managed implementation and testing

  • Generation of Migration Reports

We can manage these processes on your behalf or allow you to take the lead. We offer advisory and support services as needed. No matter what type of staffing configuration you work with, Precision Bridge can personalize our support to give you the best experience possible.

We hope our customers and partners enjoy the new features included in 6.3. We’ll be sharing more updates as our solutions continue to evolve, so stay tuned to our newsletters for more.
