PB Newsletter: Wrapping Up 2022 and Looking Forward to 2023

In this month’s newsletter, we look back on highlights from late 2022 and explore a few trends in ITSM data management going into 2023.

Precision Bridge is Growing!

First, a big thank you to all our partners and customers who have helped us grow our business in FY22 resulting in Q4 being our best quarter ever. The demand for migration, archiving, replication, and synchronisation continues to increase. Since our last newsletter we have secured the help of James Warriner to assist us with Business Development to meet this demand. James is based in the UK and has over 30 years IT experience within ITSM, CRM, DevOps, and cybersecurity. We are excited to be working with James to expand our offerings, marketing, sales, and business partnerships.

Precision Bridge Version 7.0

In the fourth quarter of 2022 we released version 7.0 of the Precision Bridge platform, which introduces some important new features:

  • Support for ZenDesk and ManageEngine: Precision Bridge can now support these two platforms, enabling smooth migration of tickets, articles, and related notes and attachments to alternative ITSM vendor platforms.

  • Graphical reporting web portal: Precision Bridge has always featured robust reporting capabilities. Now we’ve taken it a step further by launching a web-based graphical reporting portal. Users can monitor data migration performance (records processed, created, updated, and skipped, as well as errors encountered) for user-selectable time periods and drill down from project-level to table-level statistics from a separate web portal without the need for access to the Precision Bridge software.

Business Highlights from Q4 of 2022

In the closing months of 2022, we completed several important customer projects:

  • With SilverTree, a consulting and services company based in Raleigh, North Carolina, we completed a ZenDesk and Manage Engine migration to ServiceNow using the latest Precision Bridge migration utilities.

  • A large U.S. media company also used Precision Bridge to migrate tickets and attachments from ZenDesk to ServiceNow.

  • Partner Capgemini completed a migration from one ServiceNow instance to another for one of their major European finance clients.

  • Highlighting a less-common but fully supported Precision Bridge use case, Capgemini also selected Precision Bridge to implement a bidirectional data sync between two ServiceNow instances for another major client.

Trends for 2023

In looking forward to 2023, we are mindful of a few important trends:

  • Data archiving is becoming an important topic in the enterprise. The exponential growth in the volume of data in general, and of ITSM data in particular, often affects system performance and raises concerns about storage space. Many companies are considering data archiving strategies to trim the data size to manageable levels while remaining compliant with data retention regulations and best practices.

  • Knowledge migration is an important consideration for ITSM migrations. Many organizations are less interested in migrating historical tickets to new platforms, but still want to migrate the full portfolio of knowledge-base articles so the knowledge doesn’t need to be re-created.

  • Worrisome economic outlooks are causing many companies to control costs, often by reducing their software licensing. This trend is driving a need to or migrate ITSM data to more economical platforms or consolidate multiple ITSM systems onto a single platform.

All told, Precision Bridge is in the midst of a “growth spurt” and we are excited about expanding our opportunities to help our customers with their ITSM data management needs in 2023. Happy New Year!
